The Common Deputy, Rafael Yanes, made an institutional visit to the Yaiza Town Hall this Wednesday confirming to its mayor, Óscar Noda, that for the moment there are no registered complaints from residents about the actions of the southern institution, as reported by the institution itself.
Rafael Yanes, who was accompanied by Felipe Afonso, assistant to the Common Deputy, thanked Yaiza for its institutional cooperation, informing the highest municipal official that, as a general rule, he is requesting local administrations to make greater efforts in the execution of accessibility projects in buildings and public spaces.
The mayor of Yaiza positively valued this initiative, reporting on the assignments that the municipality has executed and plans to execute in this area. Óscar Noda also praised the figure of the ombudsman as a "guarantee in democracy so that citizens know where to go when they believe that their rights are being violated by any Canary Island public administration".
In the city of Arrecife there is an office of the Common Deputy at your service, although citizens also have the possibility of raising their concerns through the Internet. The figure of the Common Deputy, as High Commissioner of the Parliament of the Canary Islands for the defense of the rights and freedoms of citizens, has the capacity to mediate to provide solutions to possible problems that may arise between administration and citizens.
