The Teguise City Council, through the Department of Parks and Gardens, led by Nieves Martínez, requests the "collaboration of residents to keep the gardens of Costa Teguise clean and cared for" and to avoid "using public spaces to deposit pruning remains from private gardens".
According to Nieves Martínez, “after the city council began the corresponding maintenance and cleaning work on the gardens, pruning remains from private homes have been detected.”
“We would like to remind you that the City Council has a free collection service for belongings and pruning that citizens can use simply by calling 928 84 59 99,” adds Martínez.
For her part, the mayor, Olivia Duque, highlights that “citizen collaboration and the commitment of everyone is necessary to keep the municipality clean.” “It is useless for us to use public resources to clean and maintain municipal gardens, if there are people who deposit garbage in places that are not authorized for it,” she argues.
The City Council reminds that depositing waste, pruning remains or garbage outside the places established in the Municipal Ordinance may lead to sanctioning infractions and with fines that can reach up to 3,000 euros, according to the Regulatory Ordinance No. 10 for the Protection of Public Spaces in Relation to their Cleaning and with the Removal, Deposit and Elimination of Waste and other activities.
