The Chief of the Local Police of Arrecife, Estanislao García, has denied
flatly the accusations made by the Intersindical
Canaria and CSIF unions and highlights "the good work carried out by the police
during the storm of rain and wind that hit Lanzarote, and fundamentally Arrecife, last Tuesday".
For García, the accusations of both unions "are malicious and
absolutely false", since during the past storm, "an operation was established
formed by 14 agents, in addition to twenty members of
Civil Protection, who worked in the most affected areas of Arrecife in
coordination by the Insular Emergency Center".
Although the situation was complicated on Tuesday, the
The head of the Local Police of Arrecife, "the service
established for this type of weather incidents worked well".
It should be noted that in addition to the attention to the neighbors, the Local Police
also proceeded to make traffic cuts and detours of circulation
to avoid accidents, due to the registered floods.
The Chief of the Local Police was also blunt in assuring that "it is
false that the mayor used the police vehicle at any time
camouflaged to move to the neighborhoods most affected by the
rains". Likewise, Estanislao García again denied the
unions and explained that "both the camouflaged car of the Local Police
as the rest of the police vehicles have their mandatory insurance in
rule".
