The president of the Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, José Valle, intervened this Tuesday morning on Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero, where he clarified that the institution he represents is not going to replace the island's Tourism Federation on the board of directors of the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers.
"It caught me by surprise because I didn't know, I didn't know that point was being taken and I emphatically said no," Valle pointed out, who assured during his intervention on Good morning, Lanzarote that the Chamber of Commerce will not enter the council "taking out another" administration.
"I am not going to accept, while I preside over the Chamber of Commerce, that a change of that magnitude be made," Valle continued. The president pointed out that he contacted the CEO of the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers, Ángel Vázquez, to emphatically convey his opposition to that change.
José Valle has indicated that he would like to join the board of directors of the CACT, but that he will not do so by replacing any institution. "I am not going to accept a swap of cards," he added.
Along these lines, the counselor has shown himself visibly pissed off and has responded to the statements of the socialist counselor Benjamín Perdomo, who had shown his opposition to the way of managing the new statutes of the centers.
The previous day, Benjamín Perdomo had pointed out in Good morning, Lanzarote that in a while one would see "Summit 8 and the Chamber of Commerce commenting on the Centers", Benjamín Perdomo had stated this past Monday in Good morning, Lanzarote.
The socialist councilor also denounced that the new statutes prohibit members of the board of directors from discussing the issues dealt with within it. "Criticism is sometimes political criticism and I believe that the Chamber does not have to be in the political game because it is not a political party," Valle defended.
