The Tourist Centers recover César Manrique's uniforms

The workers of the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers will once again wear the original uniforms created by César Manrique. The Entity has just published the administrative and technical specifications of the contract that will allow it to recover an important part of its original essence.

The councilor, Ángel Vázquez, has promoted an initiative that values "a collection of works of art that deserves to be admired again; one more example of Manrique's talent and creativity that became a hallmark not only of the Tourist Centers but of the island of Lanzarote".

Thus, while the staff of Jameos del Agua and Jardín de Cactus will wear striped uniforms, the maitres in lilac and the waiters in orange, in Montañas del Fuego the historic white shirts with the volcano on the chest will be recovered, in this case, the maitres with red shirts. For their part, the waiters of the Mirador del Río will wear blue, the maitres in lilac.

In the Monumento al Campesino, the typical costume with a Mao collar shirt and sash at the waist will be recovered, and in the Cueva de los Verdes, a white and green striped shirt will be worn. Similarly, the Tourist Centers will recover the original uniforms designed by Manrique for bus drivers, gardeners, ticket collectors, parking attendants, shop assistants, guards and cleaning staff.

New ones in the Castillo de San José and El Almacén

On the other hand, the Tourist Centers will implement new designs for the staff of the Castillo de San José restaurant and the Picasso Bar, in El Almacén. Thus, in the Castillo de San José, a petrol blue uniform will be worn, with a vest for the waiters and a jacket for the maitre, "in keeping with the fresh, elegant and renovated image that we want to project of that restaurant", and in El Almaćen a new black uniform will be incorporated.

The councilor has explained that all the garments will be made of modern, sustainable and breathable fabrics "to facilitate the work of the workers".

People or entities interested in participating in this process can consult the bases in this link. It has an estimated value of 245,187.26 euros and an execution period of 3 years.
