The Councilor for Employment, Transportation and New Technologies of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Nerea Santana (PP) attended this Wednesday the signing of the Comprehensive Employment Plan for the Canary Islands (PIEC) signed this Wednesday between the Ministry of Labor and the Government of the Canary Islands, which will involve the transfer of 42 million euros to the Autonomous Community for the training of unemployed people and labor insertion.
The event was attended by the President of the Canary Islands, Angel Víctor Torres, and the Minister of Labor, Migration and Social Security in functions, Magdalena Valerio, as well as representatives of the different Cabildos of the islands.
The Employment Area of the island institution hopes that this plan can also serve to improve the employability of young people and the readaptation to new labor sectors.
"This council has a clear objective and it is none other than to create more and better employment in Lanzarote, and we are going to continue working along those lines, both with our own funds and with funds from other administrations," highlighted Nerea Santana.
"The Cabildo will not spare efforts," added the councilor, "to contribute to the island offering the best possible conditions so that new jobs can be generated and to actively act in the training of unemployed people so that they have better options and opportunities to access employment."
