The president of the Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, José Valle, accompanied by a delegation of businessmen from the island, was received yesterday in the Parliament of the Canary Islands in an institutional visit. The reception was given by the president of the Parliament, Astrid Pérez, who welcomed the delegation and showed them the presidential office, as well as the permanent artistic collection of the parliamentary headquarters, including the work "Opuntia" by the artist César Manrique.

During the day, the president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, presented the draft of the Island Plan for Territorial Planning (PIOT) to the representatives of the Chamber and a group of businessmen from various economic sectors of the island. The meeting was also attended by the vice president of the Cabildo, María Jesús Tovar, and the Minister of Territorial Planning, Territorial Policy and Tourism Planning, Jesús Machín, as well as the president of the Lanzarote Business Confederation, about twenty businessmen and the drafting team of said plan.

This initiative is part of a strategy to bring the PIOT closer to the different economic and business agents of Lanzarote, with the aim that they can analyze the document and present the allegations they deem appropriate. The Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote and La Graciosa highlights the importance of this participatory process within the public-private governance model in which it has been working together with the island's Cabildo.

The Chamber reaffirms its commitment to continue actively collaborating in the development of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, promoting the involvement of the business sector in territorial planning and the sustainable growth of the islands.
