The Minister of Industry, Miguel Ángel Jiménez, attended the eleventh edition of the popular catwalk to show his support for the Lanzarote designer Oswaldo Machín. The event, which took place in the Atrium of the Hotel Santa Catalina in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, also included the presence of the Gran Canaria designer Ogadenia Couture. In this last exhibition, dedicated to the bridal and communion sector, the boned corset, the light lingerie-cut dresses, the two-piece suits and the traditional transparencies of the brand in rector dresses and lace shirts were the protagonists. All this without leaving behind the classic white color characteristic of this type of clothing.
Jiménez attended on behalf of the Island Council to show his support for the designer from Lanzarote, of whom he highlighted his "great effort and dedication" and described him as "a benchmark of Lanzarote fashion". Likewise, the counselor emphasized the great opportunity for Lanzarote that the island is represented in an event of such characteristics that, today, is one of the largest in this field.
Oswaldo Machín presented his collection Heritage 2025, focused on bridal fashion designs, on the great catwalk. In addition, the designer does not abandon tradition in his creations, since he includes Canarian crafts such as rosettes and openwork in them. He also bets on the use of recycled materials, following a line more respectful with the environment through fashion.
