The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through its Employment Area, and the City Council of Tinajo have presented the new municipal Employment Plan, which has allowed the hiring of seven unemployed people in the municipality. This program, financed with 105,387.30 euros within the framework of the island employment agreement, seeks to promote labor insertion and improve the employability of the beneficiaries.

During the event held in Tinajo, the president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, highlighted the importance of this type of initiative to strengthen the labor fabric of the island. "It is essential that we, as institutions, work together to offer opportunities to those who need it most. Our commitment is that every euro invested in employment generates a real impact on the lives of citizens, providing them not only with a job, but also with training tools that allow them to improve their professional prospects."

For the Minister of Employment, Jesús Machín Tavío, "this program not only responds to the immediate need for employment, but also incorporates training in languages, digital skills and personal skills, which is an added value for the beneficiaries. The coordination between the Cabildo and the town councils is key to the success of these plans."

For his part, the mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín, thanked the Cabildo for "the close and necessary collaboration between institutions for the development of plans like this one that has allowed the hiring of seven unemployed people in the municipality, giving way to those people with greater difficulties of insertion to find a job. These initiatives generate direct job opportunities and allow several families from Tinajo to regain stability and hope."

The Tinajo Employment Plan contemplates the hiring of seven people in beautification, cleaning and construction tasks, prioritizing groups with greater difficulties in accessing the labor market, especially those over 40 years of age. The initiative is part of the agreement signed in November 2023, through which the Cabildo has allocated a total of 1.5 million euros to the different municipalities of the island for its implementation.
