The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the Department of Social Welfare, has financed the installation of a stairlift at the headquarters of the emblematic association Parranda Marinera Los Buches.

The Minister of Social Welfare, Marci Acuña, stressed that this action is a fundamental step to break down architectural barriers and ensure that no one is excluded from enjoying the cultural heritage of Lanzarote. "Culture and tradition are elements that unite us as a society. Therefore, we work to ensure that anyone, regardless of their physical abilities, can access and fully participate in these spaces," said Acuña.

From the association Parranda Marinera Los Buches, a cultural reference in Lanzarote, they were very grateful for the support received. Its president, Juan Antonio Machado, stressed "the importance of this action, which will allow people with reduced mobility to comfortably access the activities and events organized at its headquarters".

For her part, the Arrecife Councilor for Social Welfare, Maite Corujo, stressed the work of public administrations to ensure that all social and cultural spaces are accessible, stressing that inclusion is a fundamental priority in municipal policies. "We work to eliminate barriers, both physical and social, and ensure that all people, regardless of their abilities, can fully enjoy the activities and services offered by our city," she said.

Marci Acuña also recalled that this collaboration is part of a broader effort by the Cabildo to make Lanzarote an accessible and inclusive island. "We will continue to promote this type of initiative throughout the island, because accessibility is a right and a commitment that we must assume as a society," concluded the Minister.
