The Cabildo of Lanzarote published this past Tuesday the final resolution of the subsidies destined to the livestock farms of the island.
The president and councilor of the Primary Sector of the Cabildo, Oswaldo Betancort, highlighted that aids worth almost 1.4 million euros have been granted to a total of 61 farmers, with the aim of improving the profitability of their farms, helping them to cover expenses related to animal feed, water transport or investment in fuel and electricity, among others.
Likewise, Betancort highlights that the farmers of Lanzarote and La Graciosa who are able to receive this aid can go to deliver the justification for the aid from this Thursday at the headquarters of the Agricultural Experimental Farm of the Cabildo of Lanzarote. The subsidies for farmers of both islands, owners of livestock farms of goats, sheep, pigs, cattle, camelids, rabbits, and poultry, have a maximum amount of 400 euros per Livestock Units (LSU).
The maximum amount per livestock farm is 80,000 euros. Likewise, the amount of the subsidy will be 50% of the cost of the activity and the period of execution of the expense from 01/01/2023 to 04/30/2024.
