The Cabildo denies Arrecife: "The agreement for the Islote de Fermina had not reached the institution"

“The definitive proof that Ástrid Pérez and Jacobo Medina are lying is that yesterday, at 2:05 p.m., the agreement proposal finally entered the Cabildo,” says Corujo.

The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, wanted to respond to public opinion to deny the latest statements by the mayor of the Arrecife City Council, Ástrid Pérez, and "her political advisor, Jacobo Medina", in which they accused the First Island Institution of deliberately paralyzing the agreement for the opening of the Islote de Fermina. “It is absolutely false that the Cabildo of Lanzarote has paralyzed any procedure because, quite simply, no document in this regard had reached this Institution until yesterday at noon,” he stated.

“The definitive proof that Pérez and Medina are lying is that yesterday, at 2:05 p.m., the agreement proposal for the Islote finally entered the Cabildo,” said the president of the First Island Institution.

Corujo believes that "this attempt by Pérez and Medina to confuse the population reveals their manifest inability to manage public affairs and their profound ignorance of the functioning of an Administration." "The current political leaders of the Arrecife City Council should know, for the good of that Institution itself, that the exit record of a document from an administration does not imply the entry record into another. They forgot to explain, I want to think that in an involuntary oversight, that there is an administrative procedure that requires some time, some forms and a meticulous and exhaustive follow-up work so that it comes to fruition,” he warned.

The president has appealed to the “high-mindedness and prudence of those who intend to confuse the island's population with this type of statement.” “It is better to remain silent and appear that one does not know what one is talking about than to open one's mouth in front of any microphone and demonstrate that, indeed, one does not know what one is talking about,” Corujo pointed out.

In addition, the president concluded by indicating that the Institution "will inform citizens about the evolution of the procedure on the Islote de Fermina."
