After the court of first instance No. 6 of Arrecife was already put into operation, the senator for Lanzarote and La Graciosa, Francisco Manuel Fajardo Palarea, met this Tuesday in Madrid with the Secretary of State for Justice, Manuel Olmedo, in order to discuss various issues related to the judicial and prosecutorial fields of the island of Lanzarote.

Specifically, the socialist senator highlighted the already definitive creation, after the publication in the Official State Gazette of Royal Decree 422/2025, of June 3, of a position in the Section of Violence against Women of the court of first instance of Arrecife.

According to said rule, there has been the assignment to it of a position of second-category prosecutor of the two that are extended for the Prosecutor's Office of the Arrecife-Puerto del Rosario area, "thus fulfilling the aspiration expressed by the judges of Arrecife in line with the Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands".

Senator Fajardo Palarea conveyed to the Secretary of State his satisfaction for "the sensitivity shown from the Government of Spain towards the islands he represents." In addition, he took the opportunity to convey his endorsement and support for an amendment presented to the Organic Law Project that modifies the Law of the Judicial Power and the Organic Statute of the Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the adoption of the necessary measures so that, in an insular territory such as the Canary Islands, "the mobility of territorial assignment judges be exceptional, ensuring that reconciliation of their personal, family and professional life is facilitated as much as possible."
