The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, has announced the call for the public tender for the work to reinforce the pavement of the LZ-10 road in the Tahíche-Teguise section, which has a base bidding budget of 990,135.15 euros from the Cabildo's own funds and an execution period of 3 months.

The president considers that this intervention is justified by the need to "opt for more modern and safe traffic on the island's roads." "To this end, we are going to improve the condition of the pavement on the Tahiche-Teguise section, which has not been renovated since 2010, and which supports a high density of traffic, with daily peaks of up to 8,000 vehicles that have generated various cracks and subsidence in the pavement," she says.

For the Councilor for Public Works, Planning and Project Coordination of the First Island Institution, Jacobo Medina, the objective of the project is to "improve the traffic conditions of the road with a new wearing course that allows for smoother and safer driving."

Signage and containment systems

The Councilor for Public Works, Planning and Project Coordination explains that with this project the current signage will also be reinforced, replacing the beaconing elements and providing the road with new horizontal signage with better visual and technical composition characteristics. In addition, the existing guardrails will be renewed, whose posts do not comply with current regulations on containment systems, and new barriers with protection elements for motorcyclists will be installed.

The project to be executed will also act on the beginning and end of sidewalks in the entrance area to the Villa de Teguise through the construction of fords or pedestrian ramps that allow access to all the sidewalks that currently exist and that currently have steps due to the entrances to the adjoining properties.

Companies interested in this tender can submit their applications through the Cabildo de Lanzarote's tender portal until September 14.
