The elected mayor of San Bartolomé, Alexis Tejera, wanted to thank on behalf of his entire team "the trust placed by the 3,348 residents of the municipality" in the local elections last Sunday. "A vote of confidence in many years of work by the socialists in San Bartolomé, thinking of the people, of stable and coherent and eminently social politics, thanks to which we have designed the municipality we need, always fulfilling our electoral program both in San Bartolomé casco, as in Playa Honda and the towns of the municipality", Tejera highlighted.
"We have paid special attention to my mobility, especially pedestrians and bicycles, which have gained space always hand in hand with respect and sustainability. In addition, we have promoted popular customs to highlight our local product and pampered our culture and our roots to support the progress of San Bartolomé. In recent years we have started a path that we are now going to continue, thanks to the trust of our neighbors to make the municipality of San Bartolomé an even better place to live. We have significantly improved the sports infrastructure and the Avenida de Playa Honda", continues Alexis Tejera.
He also referred to "the lighting plans, the rainwater works to reduce the water that collapses the sewage network when it rains or the resurfacing plan, which has reached more than 75 percent of the roads, improved to increase road safety".
"With this majority support we are going to build an open, inclusive and tolerant San Bartolomé, the San Bartolomé that we all want. We are going to continue with the projects already started and with the marked social character of our initiatives especially designed for our elders and their families such as the necessary Family Respite Center. The industrial zone of Playa Honda will continue to grow to become, definitively, the business epicenter of the island. Our neighbors will soon enjoy the Playa Honda Urban Park, a project that is underway. We will consolidate equality policies in our municipality, we will make San Bartolomé a one hundred percent accessible municipality, we will provide more aid to our students, we will increase animal welfare and environmental projects such as "Playa Honda la mar de vida" and, without a doubt, we will work so that the General Plan provides the solutions that San Bartolomé needs such as the connection of the commercial Playa Honda with the residential and many other measures that we can carry out thanks to the trust of our neighbors", concludes Alexis Tejera.
