The Teguise City Council approved in the Governing Board held this Tuesday, September 2, an initial investment of 1,250,000 euros for an asphalt plan that responds to a historical demand from residents.

This project, which will be fully financed by the municipal treasury surplus, will allow the improvement and modernization of more than 50 streets in the towns of Tahíche and Guatiza in a first phase, with the forecast of extending to all the towns of the municipality.

The mayor Olivia Duque, stressed the commitment of the Government group with the equitable development of the entire municipality. "With this investment, we demonstrate that we work to advance accessibility and improve the quality of life in each of the towns of Teguise," she added.

"Using the treasury surplus for a project as essential as this allows us to act with agility and efficiency, directly benefiting the residents who will see how their streets are transformed, making them safer and more passable," she concluded.

For his part, the Councilor for Roads and Works, Eugenio Robayna, highlighted the importance of this initiative, noting that "this asphalt plan is a direct and forceful response to the requests we have received from residents." "This is a historical demand that we can finally address to ensure that the municipality's road network is up to the needs of its inhabitants," he said.

The main objective of the global plan is to strengthen accessibility and security in the population centers of Teguise, one of the priorities of the government group. The actions will focus on repaving and improving horizontal and vertical signage, which will contribute to a safer road environment for drivers and pedestrians.
