Teguise will allocate more than 500,000 euros to two new improvement projects in La Graciosa and Tahíche

The Teguise City Council allocates 566,363.85 euros from the treasury surplus to the execution of two new investments aimed at improving the public infrastructure of the municipality with the conditioning of the Pedro Barba coastline, in La Graciosa, through the restoration and reinforcement of its retaining wall, as well as the execution of the first phase of the rainwater drainage project in Tahiche, specifically on Rafael Alberti street and Néstor de la Torre avenue.

Of the total investment, 249,369.04 euros are allocated to the conditioning of the coastline through the restoration and reinforcement of the Pedro Barba retaining wall, while 316,994.81 euros correspond to the first phase of the rainwater drainage project in Tahiche.

This project was drafted by the Lanzarote Island Council at the request of the Teguise City Council, with the aim of improving the drainage of the area and reducing incidents caused by heavy rainfall. Both actions are financed entirely from the treasury surplus corresponding to the settlement of the 2025 fiscal year, without resorting to the Council's indebtedness.

The mayor, Olivia Duque, highlights that "we continue to take advantage of the good economic health of the Corporation to transform that surplus into useful investments that improve the safety, services, and quality of life of our neighbors". "These actions respond to real needs of the municipality and allow us to advance in the improvement of public infrastructure," she adds.

The Councilor for Finance, Javier Díaz, points out that "the financial stability of the City Council allows us to continue promoting new strategic investments without compromising the budgetary balance and to allocate municipal resources to projects that generate a direct benefit to the citizens of Teguise".

With this commitment, the Teguise City Council "continues to develop an economic management policy aimed at transforming municipal resources into actions that contribute to improving infrastructure, reinforcing safety, and offering better services to all citizens in each of the municipality's centers".
