The Teguise City Council has announced the start of a new phase of improvement of the municipality's public lighting "in its commitment to renew the municipality's lighting through projects that include in their technical report both the installation of LED streetlights with new fiber columns, as well as the positioning of solar streetlights in rural areas."
Specifically, according to the City Council, for three months, and with a budget of 41,434 euros, the replacement of 109 columns will be carried out in more than 15 streets in the Volcán and Cercado Nuevo area of Tahíche, thanks to a plan initiated by the Roads and Works area directed by Eugenio Robayna.
"This new phase of lighting improvement includes the foundation/anchoring for the new columns and the adaptation of the surrounding land; the connection in the new column of the lighting network, and the assembly and connection of the existing luminaire," explained Robayna, highlighting "the quality of the materials used and the technology that has proven to be reliable even in the most extreme weather conditions, and that guarantees many years of performance and reliability."
"The renewal of public lighting in Teguise is progressing in response to the priorities raised by residents in the meetings we hold twice a year in all the towns of the municipality, but our goal is not only to improve the service and safety of the citizens of Teguise, but also to be pioneers in the implementation of energy and LED lighting solutions based on solar energy," said the mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort.
On the other hand, the mayor assured that "upcoming phases of luminaire replacement, as well as asphalting, are already being planned in new residential areas of nuclei in constant population growth such as Costa Teguise or Tahíche."
