The Teguise City Council has proceeded to pay 50% of the subsidies destined to entities, clubs, sports associations and schools of municipal interest corresponding to the 2023-2024 season, which means a total of 200,000 euros.

The mayoress of Teguise, Olivia Duque, highlights that the increase of this item is a sign of the City Council's commitment to the entities that, "day by day, work to enrich the sports and social life of our municipality." "We continue betting on promoting local talent and supporting those who make Teguise a benchmark in this area," she says.

For his part, the Councilor for Sports Alejandro Ramírez emphasizes that "with this type of actions we want our residents to know and practice different sports disciplines of their liking." He also stresses that the funding supports groups that contribute to social development and the promotion of healthy habits among the population.

The beneficiaries of these grants have a period of one month to justify the first part of the grant received. Once this process is completed, the remaining 50% will be paid, which will complete the total of 400,000 euros destined to support these initiatives during the current season.

In addition, the Contracting Department "continues working to ensure the speed in administrative procedures and compliance with the commitments made with the different beneficiary associations".

"The Teguise City Council reaffirms its commitment to efficient and transparent management that allows strengthening the local associative fabric, key to the development of the municipality," they conclude.
