The Teguise City Council has taken to the plenary its adhesion to the public company Gesplan (Management and Territorial and Environmental Planning), dependent on the Government of the Canary Islands, to promote new lines of collaboration in matters of environment and planning of Teguise and La Graciosa.

“This collaboration will allow us to make direct requests and thus improve the management and execution of projects related to the environment and territorial planning that affect the municipality of Teguise and the island of La Graciosa”, explained the mayor Oswaldo Betancort, who celebrates that “the City Council has taken another step towards collaboration between public administrations, in order to expedite the procedures demanded by the citizen of Teguise”.

The councilor responsible for the Urban Planning area, Olivia Duque, considered that the signing of this agreement means “being able to advance in different units of action that are pending urban planning, planning or environmental studies, and also promoting the defense of nature, and urban plans and projects, as well as any type of technical assistance that we hope will serve to unblock problems that harm many residents, in the face of which, the municipal technical team cannot respond favorably, precisely because many of these issues depend on decisions that are made by other institutions”.

Duque has also positively valued this agreement “since it will also be a way of not further congesting the Teguise Technical Office with issues that can be resolved through this channel”.
