The Teguise City Council is launching a dog surveillance campaign on the beaches of the municipality, in order to prevent pets from bothering users of the Teguise coasts.
This was announced by the councilor who manages the municipal dog pound service of the Teguise City Council, Eugenio Robayna, who pointed out that this measure is being taken "in view of the high number of complaints from beach users."
The device will be composed of the Local Police and a member of the dog pound, who will be in charge of stepping up surveillance mainly in Famara Beach, Caleta de Famara, San Juan Beach and Caleta de Caballo.
This year the device will not only be concentrated in the summer months but will continue throughout the year. Both municipal workers will remind pet owners that it is strictly forbidden to have animals on the beaches.
"The beaches have signs that clearly indicate the existence of this rule and those people who violate it will be sanctioned", the Council informs.
