Teguise Town Council informs that, on the occasion of the celebration of All Saints' Day, the cleaning, conservation and improvement works have been completed in the five cemeteries of the municipality: those of the Villa de Teguise (Nuestra Señora de Las Nieves) and the Old Cemetery, that of San Miguel de Tao, that of Guatiza and that of Caleta del Sebo, in La Graciosa. These actions aim to offer dignified, well-kept and accessible spaces for all people who wish to pay tribute to and visit their loved ones during these days.
The mayoress, Olivia Duque, placed special emphasis on the importance of "municipal infrastructures being at the service of the citizens, not only on special dates, but throughout the year," thus indicating the government team's commitment to the care of memorial spaces.
The improvements made include the replacement of furniture, the improvement of pedestrian access, the intensive cleaning of gardens and green areas, and the floral decoration of the entrances to the cemeteries, contributing to a more welcoming and solemn environment. Likewise, during 2025, niches have been expanded in the Teguise Villa Cemetery, the Municipal Cemetery, and the Santa Margarita Catholic Cemetery in Guatiza, reinforcing the commitment to the continuous improvement of municipal services.
To mark the holiday, the Councillor for Works, Eugenio Robayna, announced that opening hours will be extended to facilitate visits, and cemeteries will be accessible from 08:00 to 22:00, allowing families to honor their loved ones with greater comfort and peace of mind.
The public is reminded that, in addition to respecting the environment, the use of the spaces designated for depositing flowers and making offerings is facilitated, and that municipal personnel will be available for guidance and assistance throughout the period.
The City Council calls on citizens to participate in this tradition with the respect and solemnity it deserves, appreciating the dignity of the environment and the symbolic value of these spaces for collective gathering and memory.
