The Teguise City Council has begun resurfacing works in the coastal town of Los Cocoteros, an action included within the project of the Plan of various asphaltings north and east zone, to improve the state of the roads, increase road safety and offer better mobility.

The mayor, Olivia Duque, points out that this action responds to "a commitment made to the residents of Los Cocoteros. These investments have a direct impact on the quality of life of the citizens and on the safety of those who travel on these roads," she adds.

For his part, the councilor for Roads and Works, Eugenio Robayna, highlights that the resurfacing plan will allow "action to be taken in the points that needed it most, improving the surface and extending the useful life of the roads to advance in the modernization of the municipal road network with planned and effective actions."

The works, which include work on El Clavo, Canela, Laurel, Orégano, Pimienta, and Tomillo streets, began with the milling of the existing pavement. They will continue with the conditioning of the base and the subsequent laying of a new asphalt layer. Once these tasks are completed, the horizontal signage will be repainted and the vertical signage that shows deterioration will be replaced.

The action is financed entirely with the Teguise City Council's own funds and has an investment of 1,255,409.38 euros, which reflects the Governing Group's commitment to the continuous improvement of public infrastructure.

The City Council requests the collaboration of the citizens during the development of the works, recommending avoiding parking on the affected streets while the work lasts, as well as thanking them for their understanding regarding any occasional inconvenience that may be caused.

The Teguise City Council informs that, once the works in Los Cocoteros conclude, the resurfacing plan will continue in Teseguite, Los Valles, Soo, Tiagua, and Costa Teguise, giving continuity to the municipal strategy of progressive renovation of the road network in the different towns of the municipality.
