The Teguise City Council has approved the municipal ordinance to be able to formalize the audiovisual productions that are carried out within the municipality. The Department of Environment aims to regulate this type of activities to protect the environment and prevent it from affecting the daily life of citizens.

The mayor Olivia Duque highlights that this ordinance "aims to organize audiovisual activities so that they are carried out safely and respectfully with the environment and the local community. "We must take care of our territory, combining this protection with the importance of promoting the advantages of the municipality as a natural setting for film shoots, documentaries, commercials or series," he explains.

For her part, the Councilor for the Environment, Myriam Jorge, points out that audiovisual activity has a very important economic impact on Teguise, since "it generates direct and indirect employment, promotes service companies, energizes the hotel and restaurant sector, and makes the municipality visible as a tourist destination." In addition, Jorge stressed that "Teguise is a territory with numerous protection figures and therefore it is necessary to comply with this ordinance."

People who want to submit claims or suggestions will have a period of thirty days, from its publication in the Official Gazette of the Province and in the bulletin board of the City Council.
