The Management of Health Services of the Lanzarote Health Area, attached to the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands, is promoting a new tender for the expansion of the Tinajo Local Clinic and "maintains its commitment to the execution of the works," as reported this Wednesday.
Last June 11, after detecting a "technical incident" in the project, the Management decided to "withdraw from the tender procedure that had been previously published." This is a responsible measure from a legal point of view that will allow the project to be corrected and the work to be re-tendered with all guarantees in the shortest possible time.
“The expansion of the Clinic is not paralyzed, nor abandoned; on the contrary, work is being done to develop the planned action and improve and expand its facilities,” points out the manager of the Lanzarote Health Services, Pablo Eguía.
The expansion of the Tinajo Clinic is a project by the Lanzarote Management that includes the creation of a new medical consultation room, a nursing consultation room, and a large multipurpose room that can be used by different professionals, which means an increase of 131.42 square meters on the built area of the building.
The Management is reviewing and correcting the file with the aim of promoting a new tender on fully lawful bases. The priority is that the expansion of the Tinajo Clinic is executed with all guarantees of safety, transparency, and correct management of public funds, so that it can be put at the service of the citizens as soon as possible.
