The Haría Town Council has initially approved, in this Monday's plenary session, the new regulatory bases for subsidies for study transport. The increase in the amount will mean an investment of 80,000 euros, considerably increasing the amount for students studying outside Lanzarote.

The mayor, Alfredo Villalba, highlights the value of these types of actions that serve as support for the municipality's students, helping families with academic expenses. “The trips made will be covered in the period between July 25 of the year in which the course begins until July 24 of the following year,” he emphasizes.

For her part, the Councilor for Education, Evelia García, explains that this line of aid is intended to cover travel expenses for students pursuing high school studies, Vocational Training, university education, master's degrees and university extension courses or postgraduate courses outside Lanzarote.

People who wish to apply for this aid must be registered in the municipality and be enrolled in person or semi-in-person in an educational center outside the island, provided that it cannot be studied in the locality.

All notifications regarding this procedure will be made on the notice board of the Haría Town Council, located in the Plaza de la Constitución, as well as on the institutional website.
