In the workers' assembly held on November 20, the RLPT reported on the stalemate in the negotiation of the collective agreement with the company, due to the contract currently held by the Arrecife City Council and which is about to end.

The contract signed between the City Council and the company URBASER, at the time, as a result of a public tender procedure, has an expiration date of 2026. The company, URBASER, maintains that it must reduce labor costs to comply with the contractual requirements promoted by the Arrecife City Council.

The RLPT considers that "this would mean a significant destruction of employment, which would make the maintenance of the service unfeasible." The development of this strike would be partial on December 9, 16 and 23, and indefinitely from December 30.
