Councilor Armando Santana has urged the Cabildo of Lanzarote to take urgent measures to recover municipal plot 5,000, a municipal land of 10,000 m² located at the main entrance of Arrecife, and turn it "into a large green space for the enjoyment of the residents of Arrecife."
"The current state of the plot is regrettable, full of garbage and in complete abandonment. We cannot allow this to be the first image received by those who visit our capital," the councilor declared, emphasizing the importance of improving the aesthetics and functionality of this strategic space.
From the Mixed Group, Santana begs both the Arrecife City Council and the Lanzarote Island Council for "a real commitment to the regeneration of public spaces and urban sustainability, urging both administrations to act immediately to clean and recondition the land."
"Transforming this plot into a large green area would not only beautify the entrance of Arrecife, but also contribute to the quality of life of our residents and the development of a healthier and more sustainable environment," he added.
The councilor has requested that the Cabildo of Lanzarote include this project in its priority action agenda and collaboration with the municipality of Arrecife and that "the necessary resources be allocated for its execution." He has also announced his intention to "present a formal proposal in the next plenary session so that the initiative materializes as soon as possible."
"The main entrance to Arrecife cannot be a plot of graffiti, bad smell and garbage, our city deserves a dignified and representative access to the island we want to build for the future," he concludes.
