The San Bartolomé City Council has given the green light to initiate the bidding process for the contracting of the works for the underground parking of Santa Elena Square, in Playa Honda.

The City Council will address this infrastructure with exclusively municipal funds with an amount of 5,798,968.99 euros, plus 405,927.83 euros as 7% IGIC, which translates into the largest public investment in the history of San Bartolomé made with its own funds.

This was decided this Tuesday during the celebration of the Local Government Board, where it was approved to start this procedure to continue with the steps carried out by this government team.

The mayor of San Bartolomé emphasizes that "this is a very ambitious project that will improve the quality of life of both residents of Playa Honda and those who visit us for leisure or work, helping to increase the number of parking spaces in a municipality where these spaces are scarce and for which we have even launched innovative actions, such as parking in private fords."

The location of this underground parking is accompanied by the remodeling of the urban environment of Santa Elena Square and will involve an approximate investment of almost six million euros. In this sense, it should be remembered that companies interested in submitting their offers to this public tender will have until February 21, 2025 to do so.

The Councilor for Urban Planning, Marlene Romero, highlights that "the San Bartolomé City Council is thinking of making daily activity in Playa Honda more comfortable, so the approval of the administrative file to contract the execution of this remodeling project in Santa Elena is increasingly close to becoming a reality for the common benefit of the municipality."

San Bartolomé aspires to grow in an orderly and sustainable manner, providing solutions to neighborhood demands and promoting comprehensive plans for its achievement. Therefore, this environment will also have buildings for collective uses in the future, such as a library and training rooms
