The San Bartolomé Town Council has carried out "repair and beautification" work on the municipal cemetery, in view of the upcoming celebrations of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day.
The mayor, Alexis Tejera, highlighted that "the work carried out includes painting, improvements to plastering, repairs to crosses, improvements to garden areas and tidying up of access spaces." This update is being done, according to the mayor, "in order to receive the hundreds of residents who come to the cemetery every year for this traditional celebration."
The Council points out that the Department of Public Works and Services, delegated to Raúl de León, "carries out improvement work in the cemetery throughout the year, but it is at this time of year when special emphasis is placed on the embellishment and renovation, since at this time the citizens of the municipality come in greater numbers to commemorate these two dates marked on the calendar." He also reminds that the opening hours of the cemetery are from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and that you must go "respecting at all times the existing security measures."
