The San Bartolomé City Council begins the installation works of a new ventilation, air conditioning, and expansion of electrical power system in the municipality's Senior Citizens' Center, an action aimed at improving the well-being of the users of this space and optimizing the building's energy efficiency.
The project aims to guarantee adequate thermal comfort conditions for the elderly, considered a group particularly sensitive to extreme temperatures, in addition to modernizing the center's facilities.
The action was awarded for 141,186.50 euros. The works will be carried out until August 14, 2026, with the aim that the new facilities will come into operation once the work is completed.
The mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, highlights that "we continue to invest in municipal infrastructures that directly impact the quality of life of our neighbors. In this case, we are talking about a very important space for our municipality, where many elderly people carry out their activities and who deserve to enjoy comfortable, modern facilities adapted to their needs."
Likewise, Pérez emphasizes that "this action reflects the government group's commitment to the continuous maintenance and improvement of public buildings, also opting for solutions that increase energy efficiency and reduce consumption."
For her part, the Councilor for Urban Planning, Marlene Romero, points out that "this action will allow the building to be equipped with a more efficient air conditioning and ventilation system, improving the functionality of the center and guaranteeing facilities adapted to the current needs of its users."
The Councilor for the Elderly, Carmen Medina, highlights that "our commitment is to offer the elderly spaces where they can carry out their daily activities with the greatest possible comfort. These improvements will contribute to making the Senior Citizens' Center a more comfortable and pleasant place throughout the year."
The councilor adds that "this center is a very important meeting point for many residents of the municipality, so continuing to invest in its improvement also means betting on their well-being, on active aging, and on a better quality of life."
With this action, the San Bartolomé City Council continues to advance in the modernization of its public infrastructures, "reinforcing its commitment to more efficient, sustainable, and comfortable municipal spaces for the citizens".
