San Bartolomé has approved a pioneering ordinance to facilitate parking in the town's fords, during the ordinary Plenary session held this Wednesday, July 24. The municipal ordinance, a pioneer in the Canary Islands and Spain, will allow people registered in a home to park their vehicles in these spaces.
The mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, explained that the main objective of this agreement is to facilitate parking in the municipality, especially in the town of Playa Honda, since, as a general rule, you can never park in a space marked with a ford.
“With this ordinance, we are going to allow the owners of the homes and the other inhabitants of these to use these places to park, and not only to access their garages,” explained the mayor. The measure entails that the fords can be used as parking spaces by the neighbor of the house in that reserved space. In this way, spaces that until now the owners of fords have been using on a daily basis will be freed up.
“From the town hall, we are once again committed to the efficiency and comfort of the citizens, working to solve historical demands of the population such as possible solutions to the need for more parking spaces in San Bartolomé,” concluded the mayor.
