The president of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, arrived this Friday in Lanzarote, an island where the president of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, is spending a few days on vacation, PSOE sources have reported.
Illa will be in Lanzarote for a few days, during which, presumably, he will meet with Sánchez, the sources indicated.
Sánchez arrived last Monday to the island to spend a few days on vacation with his family at the La Mareta residence.
La Mareta, located in the municipality of Teguise, was commissioned by King Hussein of Jordan in the late seventies of the last century and a decade later gave the residence to King Juan Carlos who in turn ceded it to National Heritage.
Different Spanish government presidents such as José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero as well as international leaders such as German chancellors Helmut Kohl and Gerhard Schröder have stayed there.
