The PP candidate for Mayor of Teguise, Rita Hernández, announced last Tuesday the group of people who accompany her in the candidacy and of whom she pointed out "they are hardworking women and men, professionals, who know the municipality and share the challenge of re-enthusing and reactivating Teguise and La Graciosa." "A team willing and ready to work from the minute in a cleaner, more orderly, safe and prosperous municipality," said Hernández.

For the candidate, on May 28, Teguise will open "a new stage away from the paralysis and setback suffered after twelve years in which only the routine has been managed and whose balance is negative for the municipality and the neighbors," she clarifies. "The nationalist government is exhausted and has nothing more to offer to the citizens of our municipality," she declared.

Faced with "more of the same", she proposes a change of course towards a management model from the bottom up, "a model of listening and closeness with the neighbors, groups, associations and the commercial and business fabric."

"A lot of work will be necessary, but we are willing and we are going to put our soul into it," she acknowledged, before mentioning some of the priority proposals of her program: plans for basic facilities and services in all towns, including Caleta de Sebo, with special emphasis on sports facilities and public spaces, as well as a specific action plan for the residential and tourist center of Costa Teguise, she adds.

In addition, Jacobo Medina referred to the "decisive moment in which the island finds itself" and "how much Lanzarote and La Graciosa are at stake in these elections."

"Now more than ever a PP presidency of the Cabildo is necessary if we really want to move forward," said Medina, who defended "his management at the head of Public Works and the improvements achieved for Teguise in the first two years of the mandate", clarifying that in "the improvement of sidewalks, the clean point, the Costa Teguise football field or the civic center, among others."

For her part, Astrid Pérez, was convinced that "Rita Hernandez will be the first mayoress of Teguise because she is the one that the municipality of Teguise deserves and needs." Pérez stressed that "she is an efficient woman, who never gives up, who loves the municipality and is willing to give everything to make the great change that it requires effective." "She is a woman of pick and shovel, persistent and honest who will defend Teguise and La Graciosa wherever necessary," she added.

"The PP's project is clear, realistic, with efficient proposals and without demagoguery"

Pérez stressed that the PP's project, with Manolo Domínguez at the head as the next president of the Government of the Canary Islands" is "clear, realistic, with efficient proposals and without demagoguery", in contrast to the "management carried out by the so-called 'pact of the flowers' during these four years", she makes clear.

"If with the previous governments of CC and PSOE we were doing badly, the hypocrisy of progressivism has ended up wreaking havoc on the islands, turning us into the CA with the highest rates of poverty", also "with a clear deterioration of health and dependency". In addition to a public housing stock of "uncertain reality" and that "will not replace the deficit that we have been dragging for 27 years", Astrid insisted.
