The coordinator in Lanzarote of the Reunir Canarias party and member of the Lánzate Association, Nahum Cabrera, has announced that the political formation will present itself to the Parliament of the Canary Islands in the next elections in May to "put Lanzarote on the map" and "bring politics closer to the citizens".

Cabrera has conveyed in statements to La Voz that this group - which has been registered for a few years - intends to "land politics", since, in his opinion, "in recent years it has been distorted, not only locally but also regionally".

"While in recent legislatures the elected representatives have remained in their spheres, people have continued and continue to be in a situation of maximum precariousness that we cannot allow," defends the coordinator.

A party formed by social entities

Reunir Canarias has emerged as a confluence of organizations from Lanzarote that work on the social sector: "We are not a political party in the traditional sense, since we have members who not only come from the political world, but have dedicated themselves to working with other people".

Although data such as who will head the list, whether it will also be presented to local and island institutions, or what strategies they will follow have not yet been published, Cabrera has indicated that "we are going to the Canarian Parliament for sure" and that they are going to propose "different ways of working".

"There are many different ways to build the Canary Islands that are far from the agreements that work today and not tomorrow," concludes the representative of the political group.
