The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the Handicraft Area led by councilor Aroa Revelo, has opened this Wednesday the registration period to participate in the 37th Lanzarote Handicraft Fair. Interested individuals may submit their applications until next April 27 through the following website.
The councilor for Handicrafts, Aroa Revelo, points out that “the opening of the period allows the organization process of a fair that maintains a high level of participation and generates direct economic activity for the sector to begin.”
Revelo adds that “the Fair is a necessary tool for the sector, because it allows trades to remain active and generates direct income for those who live from handicrafts.”
The Lanzarote Handicraft Fair constitutes one of the main events on the island's cultural calendar, habitually held in Mancha Blanca (Tinajo) and linked to the festivities in honor of the Virgen de Los Dolores. The event brings together professionals from the sector each year in a space oriented towards the exhibition, commercialization, and transmission of traditional crafts.
In the last edition, more than 80,000 people visited the fairgrounds and more than a hundred male and female artisans participated, figures that consolidate this event as one of the most relevant in the Canary Islands.
The rules, requirements, and necessary documentation to participate are now available on the official website of the area, where the entire registration process must be formalized.
