The Ministry of Public Works, Housing and Airports and Ports has denied the statements made by the mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, this Thursday, where he stated that supposedly the Government of the Canary Islands had unsubscribed from the MedCruise association.

In a press release, Noda was "more than surprised" by this information, which “would imply that there will be no tourist cruises in the ports of Vueltas (La Gomera), Tazacorte (La Palma), Gran Tarajal (Fuerteventura) and Playa Blanca (Lanzarote)".

However, the Ministry has stated that "this information is false and they have not unsubscribed from MedCruise." As will be recalled, the port of Playa Blanca is one of the Canary Islands ports with the highest influx of passengers and the municipal government is waiting for small and medium-sized luxury cruises to dock there.
