This award, which recognizes beaches for the good condition of the waters, the high level of services and the safety of bathers, has been granted to three of them belonging to the municipality of Tías. The beaches of Matagorda, Los Pocillos and Playa Chica have been fortunate to receive this international distinction.
This week, the mayor, José Juan Cruz, together with the councilors Nicolás Saavedra and Christopher Notario, proceeded to raise one of the blue flags in Matagorda.
Notario stated that "from the Tías Town Hall we will continue working to ensure that the beaches of Puerto del Carmen and La Tiñosa continue to present good environmental conditions."
