A total of three buses in Haría and Tinajo have been vandalized during the transport strike that workers of interurban transport in Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria have carried out due to the "lack of progress in the negotiations" that have been carried out since the beginning of the year to approve a provincial agreement that improves and equalizes the conditions of the sector and that does not exist until now.
Specifically, the three vehicles ended up with punctured tires. These acts of vandalism have also affected several buses in Fuerteventura, which, in this case, affected the windows of the buses.
According to Ricardo Hernández, the CCOO delegate at IntercityBus, told La Voz, "there are nervous people due to the poor service provided and anyone can take advantage of the strike opportunity, but we are only peacefully demanding to demand our rights."
In this sense, Hernández emphasized that "the fault of this situation lies with the agreements of Fuerteventura and Lanzarote because the councils of these islands have not agreed, so we will see if now that the Business Federation has intervened in a positive way so that both islands take measures and give in to the requests of the working class to reach a good agreement."
On the island and Fuerteventura, the strike began this Monday, September 15 and Tuesday, September 16 and will continue during these days with intermittent stoppages from 06:00 to 10:00 hours and from 17:00 to 21:00 hours, until the resolution of the conflict.
