The Insular Committee of the PSOE of Lanzarote was held on Wednesday afternoon at the Casa del Pueblo in Arrecife and proposed Manuel Fajardo Palarea as a candidate for the Senate for the next general elections, accompanied by Sabina Vizcaíno Sicilia and Celestino José Socas Callero as substitutes.

The proposal will be submitted to the federal bodies of the party for final approval. The socialists are betting on the continuity of Fajardo Palarea and his experience in defending the interests of Lanzarote and La Graciosa in the Upper House.

Francisco Manuel Fajardo Palarea has held the position of senator for Lanzarote from November 2019 until the call for general elections.

In the words of the general secretary of the PSOE of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo: "We have the experience, the team, and the enthusiasm to win the elections again and continue defending Lanzarote and La Graciosa. We face this appointment with ambition and with the strength of a party that works to improve people's lives."

Corujo has highlighted that "we are living in a transcendental moment, in which democracy and conquered rights are at stake. Today, a strong PSOE that protects these advances and responds to the needs of the majority is more important than ever."

"There is a majority that wants a more just society, with more rights and opportunities, and we have to ensure that this hope fills the ballot boxes. Every vote counts to build that future," she concluded.
