"The 31 votes against the PSOE's proposal for equalizing healthcare spending in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, cast today by CC and PP, are once again hindering the socialist commitment to first-class healthcare for all citizens of the Canary Islands, regardless of their island of residence." This is how the PSOE has stated, criticizing that during the voting day of the proposals and resolutions to the debate on the state of nationality, the deputies of CC and PP rejected the socialists' request to the Clavijo government that the spending per individual health card in 2018 in these two islands be "at least at the national health system average."

The socialist spokesperson, Dolores Corujo, also lamented "the PP's refusal to speak out against healthcare co-payment, an attitude that has been portrayed again with their rejection of the PSOE's proposal, which denounces that those who get sick the most pay, not those who have the most." However, the PSOE points out that this resolution did pass with the support of the rest of the Chamber.

Similarly, the PSOE states that "CC has refused in this debate to allocate Fdcan funds to healthcare and social healthcare infrastructure and technology, through a plan that prioritizes real needs." "However, their vote against has not stopped the PSOE's proposal, which has finally passed," the socialists highlight.
