Óscar Noda, inaugurated last Monday the new sports center San Marcial del Rubicón, in the southern town of Playa Blanca, "a large facility for the enjoyment of neighbors that has involved a municipal investment of 483,000 euros and is equipped with a "multipurpose court for indoor soccer, basketball and handball, bleachers, calisthenics machines and bathrooms," they announce from the Consistory. A premiere "with which we complete a comprehensive action in this urban area where we already undertook the paving of all its roads, accessibility works and implemented an inclusive playground."
"The sports party was very participatory, especially due to the joy of the boys, girls and young people of the Isla Lanzarote Gymnastics Club, the Kenpo Lanzarote School and the Ajaches Handball Club who demonstrated their skills in these disciplines", in addition to "a group of users of the Yaiza municipal gym who performed a functional training demonstration, in the presence of dozens of relatives of the athletes, visitors and councilors of the municipality".
The Councilor for Sports and Urban Planning of Yaiza, Ángel Lago, stressed "the importance of opening an outdoor recreation facility in a strategic location in Playa Blanca where the residents of San Marcial del Rubicón and Las Coloradas are especially benefited".
Lago stressed another action in terms of sports facilities: "the court in the town center that is also undergoing a total rehabilitation." He makes it clear that "the works are advanced and we will also deliver it as soon as possible."

The mayor argued that "responsible management of the accounts allows saving and reversing that money in the well-being of the society that pays its taxes, it is the meaning of public administration."
