In April 2012, Javier Caídas participated in the opening ceremony of the Playa Blanca Library as president of the Castillo del Águila Association and a great promoter of its opening as an essential space for reading and study, but sadly Javier Caídas passed away in 2019, and this April 23, 2021, nine years after that exciting premiere event, the Yaiza City Council and the southern cultural community have paid a more than deserved posthumous tribute to the figure of the deceased cultural manager by naming the library after him, letters that were unveiled by his daughter Miranda, in an emotional event coinciding with International Book Day within the program of activities of Yaiza in support of writers, booksellers and the publishing industry.

Friends of Javier Caídas, members of the group he led, and councilors of the Yaiza Corporation offered heartfelt applause remembering the figure of a person totally committed to culture. The Councilor for Culture of Yaiza, Daniel Medina, highlighted that "unfortunately the pandemic did not allow us to pay this tribute last year, but today, although there are still restrictions, we offer it from the heart, in a very simple way, but at the same time very heartfelt."
The Playa Blanca Library has a special value for the town because there, in that house built in 1957, the old town school operated where many residents learned their first letters. "For us it is an honor that the library already bears the name of Javier Caídas because he was a man who with his work honored culture," added Daniel Medina.
