At the request of the Yaiza City Council, the developer company Club Lanzarote is carrying out this week resurfacing work on Pechiguera Avenue in Playa Blanca, in the section between the LZ 701 road and the roundabout near the town's school, an action that involves the rehabilitation of 6,800 square meters of pavement in favor of road safety.
The forecast is to finish the works this Thursday with the aim of normalizing vehicle traffic in both directions on Friday, March 13. The Yaiza City Council thanks citizens for their understanding, informing that for the industrial zone and residential zone there is an alternative access through the Lidl supermarket intersection and one more access to CEIP Playa Blanca and CEO Montaña Roja via Europa street.
The mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, also highlights that “after Carnival we are starting four municipal projects for asphalt paving, new roads, accessibility and sidewalks in several areas of Playa Blanca, totaling more than five million euros.” The southern leader refers to the rehabilitation of the central Papagayo Avenue, the work at the entrance of Playa Blanca via Femés, the improvement of roads in the residential area of Las Coloradas and the construction of a new road, Azores, which provides continuity to the street in front of the health center.
Regarding future interventions in the Montaña Roja partial plan, the councilwoman of this District and the councilman of Public Works of Yaiza, Beatriz Vázquez, and Ángel, Lago, respectively, report that “the company Club Lanzarote has also been urged to re-asphalt Avenida Faro Pechiguera in its entire extension, starting with the section between the gas station and the roundabout of the Elba Playa Blanca hotel.” The municipal government fulfills its obligation to demand and supervise the actions in Montaña Roja and promote other urbanization works pending execution.
