The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Pedro San Ginés, will present this Saturday, October 5, at 1:00 p.m. at the Socio-Cultural Center "La Tegala" in Haría, "the details of the agreement proposed for the payment of the debt and the reformulation of the fee with the City Council of the north for the exploitation of the Centers of Art, Culture and Tourism that are located in the municipality; as well as the legal situation regarding the ownership of the Cueva de Los Verdes".
In a press release sent from the Cabildo to the media, it is explained that "after the celebration of the extraordinary plenary session held last Friday, September 27, to which the mayor and all the councilors of the Haría City Council were invited, and which was attended only by the councilors of the Opposition in the northern consistory; and after verifying that there was a complete ignorance of the truth on their part in relation to what decisions have been adopted by the Cabildo, the sequence of events, and the reasons for the mayor to refuse to sign a favorable agreement that would allow the payment of the debt that is maintained with this consistory; and after months of hiding the truth and transferring uncertain information to the residents on a regular basis through the Municipal Newsletter of Haría" , it has been decided to hold this event.
As explained, this act "will allow the citizens of Haría, in general, and the workers of the CACT and the staff of that consistory, in particular; to clear up any doubts they may have about this matter of enormous importance for the municipality and for the Tourist Centers themselves, since the agreement for the payment of the CACT debt is, on the one hand, fundamental for the economic and financial stability of the City Council and, therefore, for the economic well-being of the residents; and on the other hand, to maintain the Unity of the CACT Exploitation Network, including the Cueva de Los Verdes, and its economic viability".
In the aforementioned appearance, the president will deliver to anyone who requests it a copy of the certificates from both the treasurer of the Cabildo of Lanzarote and the economic and financial director of the CACT that "accredit their commitment in the past and in the present with the municipality of Haría; as well as reports from the secretary of the Corporation that also accredit the falsehood of the information given to the residents of the north and the members of the municipal plenary session".
