Nueva Canarias-Bloque Canarista (NC-bc) has denounced what it considers an "attack" against the flag of Palestine that was painted at the entrance to Costa Teguise from Arrecife, a flag, they express, "that made visible the voice of a people who are suffering a live genocide."

It should be noted that the far-right movement has appropriated the Cross of Burgundy, which emerged in Spain in the 19th century. The Carlist flag symbolizes the struggle for dynastic legitimacy and traditional values in the history of Spain.

For the Canaristas, "this flag of Palestine reminded us in its wake that the people of Gaza are suffering a genocide unprecedented in recent history, and that all humanity must firmly condemn the extermination actions against the civilian population that the Israeli Government is carrying out."

Therefore, NC-bc "condemns this inhuman, unjust and radical act, and urges both the Teguise City Council and the Cabildo de Lanzarote to replace the flag as an act of support from the Lanzarote society to the Palestinian people and Human Rights."

"Lanzarote is an example of denouncing genocide. This is demonstrated by the hundreds of people who regularly demonstrate in Arrecife. It is an expression that there is solidarity and humanism on the island. The institutions must live up to their society and not let the inhuman win the battle for peace," the Canarian organization concludes.
