The mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, accompanied by councilors Olivia Duque and Sara Bermúdez, together with the councilors of Education, Javier Díaz, and Tourism, Antonio Callero, visited the CEIP Costa Teguise to deliver to its students the publication designed, especially, "to make known, in a dynamic and attractive way to children, the history of Costa Teguise as an emblematic tourist enclave in its first 50 years of life".
“The literary initiative ´Teguise and the idol of Tejía´ was born within the ideal framework of the celebration of the 50 years of Costa Teguise, so it is necessary and opportune to create educational tools like this to bring its history and values closer to the new generations”, declared Oswaldo Betancort.
“In this sense, with this new edition, which will reach all the cultural and educational spaces of our municipality, we reinforce one of our clearest commitments of this Government group: to disseminate the history and cultural heritage of Teguise among the population”, he added during his visit to CEIP Costa Teguise in its last days prior to the Christmas holidays.
“From the hand of Teguise, our young protagonist, we will live a new adventure discovering, in this case, the history of Costa Teguise and the reasons why this is such a special and important place for the well-being of our municipality and our island”, explained the Councilor for Archives and Heritage, Sara Bermúdez, who will continue to promote actions aimed at commemorating the history of Costa Teguise from her areas.
