Nueva Canarias starts the political year with the objective of "recovering Arrecife and Lanzarote for the people"

Nueva Canarias-Bloque Canarista (NC-BC) kicked off the new political year this Sunday with its traditional militants' lunch, a meeting that served to bring together the island organization and activate the political machinery for the May 2027 elections.

The meeting, held at the Ateneo Insular “22 de Octubre”, was attended by the main leaders of NC-BC in Lanzarote, headed by its island secretary, Yoné Caraballo, and accompanied by the national general secretary of the party, Luis Campos.

The organization faces this new course with an eye on an election year and with the conviction that "the strength of NC-BC lies in active, organized, and street-present militancy." During the meeting, the need to face the pre-campaign with motivation, participation, and the ability to be on the street was conveyed to the affiliates and sympathizers.

NC-BC also highlighted the work carried out in recent years to strengthen the organization in Lanzarote. The party has continued to incorporate affiliates and sympathizers and expand its territorial presence, "consolidating a structure" that, according to the island leadership, enters this new electoral cycle "stronger and more prepared than ever."

An organization with “enthusiasm and ambition” for 2027

The meeting was marked by an atmosphere of motivation, enthusiasm, and political ambition for the May 2027 elections. The organization conveyed to its militants the conviction that "2027 will be the year of Canarianism in Lanzarote" and that the growth experienced in recent years "must now translate into greater institutional representation."

For NC-BC, the next political year "will be fundamental to transform the organizational work done so far into a recognizable political alternative for the people of Lanzarote, with a presence in the neighborhoods, municipalities, and social spaces of the island."

In this regard, Yoné Caraballo assured that their political adversaries will face an especially intense pre-campaign and election campaign. "The pre-campaign and the campaign will seem long to them, because we have many things prepared between now and May," he stated.

The insular secretary of NC-BC called on the militants to face the electoral process "with everything" and placed the Cabildo of Lanzarote as the main political objective of the organization. "We are going to storm the White House, which is the Insular Cabildo, to Recover Lanzarote," stated Caraballo.

Sheila Guillén: "We are going to recover the streets of Arrecife"

The pre-campaign will also have an important municipal front in Arrecife, where NC-BC is already working on the formation of an electoral team and a political program to contest the next electoral contest and be present in the City Council from May 2027.

The spokesperson for NC-BC in the capital, Sheila Guillén, pointed out during the meeting that the organization is building "a strong and committed team to recover the streets of Arrecife".

Guillén defended that the capital needs to recover public space for its residents. "They have expelled us from our public spaces, making us believe that as long as they keep us entertained, the things that really affect our daily lives do not matter to us," she stated.

For the spokesperson of NC-BC, "recovering the streets also means recovering the ability of Arrecife residents to enjoy squares, parks, neighborhoods, and spaces for coexistence, and placing daily well-being at the center of municipal policies".

In this regard, Guillén set an ambitious goal for the NC-BC project in the capital, "we want to position Arrecife as the first capital of the Canary Islands in well-being and happiness".

"Recover Lanzarote"

The militants' lunch thus marks the starting point of a political year that NC-BC faces with the objective of intensifying its presence in the streets, reinforcing its structures, and continuing to add people to a project that aims to contest the government of Lanzarote's main institutions.

"We have organization, we have a project, and we have a great desire to work. Now a decisive political year begins, and we are going to go out into the streets to recover Lanzarote," concluded Yoné Caraballo.
