The councilor of Nueva Canarias-Bloque Canarista (NC-bc) in the City Council of Teguise, Fernando Jiménez, has registered a motion for the public entity to “ensure compliance with the working conditions of all workers of those companies that maintain some type of contractual relationship with the City Council, demanding compliance with the law and labor law and assessing the termination of contracts with companies that do not comply with them.”

This is stated by the Canarian and doctor Fernando Jiménez, who sees “necessary for public entities such as the City Council to monitor all companies that provide services, especially if there is evidence of serious breaches in the public contract, or the working conditions of the workers are being deteriorated.”

On the other hand, NC-bc also wants the municipal plenary to publicly condemn the treatment that the company awarded the cleaning service of the facilities and equipment of the City Council of Teguise, AEMA Hispánica SL, gives to its staff of workers. In addition, it demands that AEMA Hispánica SL remedy as soon as possible the labor breaches with its workers in order to improve their well-being.

"The staff of the awarded company is in a situation of labor vulnerability, with continuous non-payment of their payrolls, lack of material resources to carry out their daily tasks, and with scarce personnel", says Fernando Jiménez, who “demands that the mayor of Teguise take a step forward and assure the workers that this situation is going to change, since it is not possible to have personnel with stress, anxiety and precariousness in the City Council.”

For NC-bc, “public entities and officials are the ones who must ensure that the law and the right of all people are guaranteed both in the private and public spheres. The workers do not deserve the treatment they are receiving and it is everyone's obligation to help them.”
