The Local Committee of Nueva Canarias (NC) in Teguise regrets the "attitude of neglect" of the conservative government group of the Canarian Coalition (CC), Popular Party (PP) and the former Vox councilor in relation to the management of different public services such as urban lighting.

This is expressed by the Canarian councilor Fernando Jiménez, echoing the complaint of the residents of the town of Caleta de Caballo who were left without lighting during the popular festivals. A situation, Jiménez maintains, "that can be explained by the little investment in public lighting that this government group painted in the municipal budgets, which on the other hand is inconsistent with the promise of the mayor Olivia Duque that she was going to focus on fixing lampposts and sidewalks."

"There are several locations in the municipality that lack public lighting or it is in a very poor condition, generating an image of desolation and insecurity," says Fernando Jiménez, who sees that "the deficits in public services accumulate to a government group without a roadmap and with part of its councilors in a programmatic obsolescence given the years as public officials."

For the Canarians, "the disorder in the management that prevails in Teguise is reflected in sidewalks in poor condition, obsolete, deteriorated and shadowless playgrounds, localities such as Costa Teguise with gardens without trees or in the process of rotting, a null environmental and landscape policy in protected areas such as El Jable, or the contempt for public schools that ask to improve their infrastructures." In addition, they point out that "Teguise continues to have a deficit in personnel in the area of Social Rights, which makes it impossible to provide adequate care services for the thousands of dependent people in the municipality."

In short, "a municipality where the same people have been governing for 15 years, but that unfortunately instead of getting better is going backwards in basic aspects," says Fernando Jiménez.
